Bakili Muluzi TV online station has claimed that police in Malawi are using vehicles without registration number plates hunting for opposition leaders one, being Ben Malunga Phiri- Member of Parliament for Thyolo central who is also DPP Director of Political Affairs.
Social media in the week reported that Ben Phiri is being hunted by Police on alleged charges of hiring Israeli IT experts to hack the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec) tally centres-claims that have no evidence.
On Sunday morning, Police using a South African registered white, Toyota Fortuner with 4 men on board stormed the premises of Calvary Family Church located at Falls Estate in Lilongwe hunting for the life of Ben Phiri, a member of the church.
When they arrived at the Church’s main entrance, they asked about the presence of Ben Phiri but the security guards said they had no idea whether he was inside the church or not prompting the attackers to nearly assaulting them for hiding their wanted suspect.
Bakili Muluzi TV has told Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Ackis Muwanga and his colleagues in the names of senior Supt Loudon Mthinda, Kanyemba, Kamphandira and Senior Supt Raphael, among others, that they have shorter days to live on this Earthly world.
He has alleged that these police officers working hand in hand with some individuals among MCP thugs are in one way or another connected with the killing of Dr. Saulosi Klaus Chilima and eight others, in the Chikangawa forest on 10th June, 2024.
The activist has assured Mr. Ackis Muwanga that the Black box which is being hidden will soon be located and the truth will prevail saying it is sad that after killing Dr. Chilima and eight others, today they are baying for Ben Phiri’s life.
“Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika will not carry out revenge on any of his critics but Malawians who have sailed through pain and sufferings in 5 years of President Chakwera and his MCP, will be the ones to arrest and prosecute all those that abused their lives.” Said Bakili Muluzi TV.
On delayed announcement of election results due to many irregularities, Bakili Muluzi TV said Malawians and international observers are all aware that Professor Peter Mutharika won in the 23 districts of the country while President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera won in only 6 districts.
He said on the 17th September, 2025 it was written on the wall that Professor Mutharika got 2.8 million votes while Dr. Chakwera got 1.5 million votes saying Malawians are only waiting for official results to declare Professor Mutharika the winner.
Bakili Muluzi TV has finally dismissed claims made by MCP running mate Engineer Vitumbiko Mumba during a presser on Sunday that DPP bought MCP monitors to rig the elections claiming that Mec is being run by MCP, Presiding Officers were employed by MCP, elections run by MCP and for the irregularities, they should blame MCP not DPP.
