Mighty Mukuru Wanderers President Dr. Thom Mpinganjira has extended his best wishes to the Nomads as they prepare for a highly anticipated Blantyre Derby showdown against their archrivals FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in the TNM Super League at Kamuzu Stadium.
The Blantyre Derby, one of Malawi’s biggest football fixtures, is expected to attract thousands of passionate fans this weekend, as both sides battle for top spot in the league standings.
Speaking ahead of the game, the business magnate and philanthropist—who also serves as the club’s Board Chairperson—expressed confidence in the team’s readiness and urged supporters to back the boys with positive energy.
“Not much to say, just to wish the team all the best. They know what is expected from them. Suffice to say, the Blantyre derby is always intense, and being a top-of-the-table clash, it will be hotly contested,” said Dr. Mpinganjira.
He further appealed to Wanderers’ loyal fans to maintain peace and uphold sportsmanship throughout the derby.
“To the fans, I urge them to support their team all the way and display the spirit of sportsmanship,” he added.
The Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, popularly known as the Nomads, have been in impressive form this season and are determined to maintain their momentum in their quest for league glory. Meanwhile, their rivals FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will be equally eager to assert dominance and reclaim bragging rights in the city.
As anticipation builds ahead of the derby, all eyes will be on Kamuzu Stadium where Malawi’s football giants will renew their fierce rivalry in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.
