The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) has announced that it is in the final stages of preparations for the administration of the 2026 Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations, scheduled to begin next week.Malawi to Start Printing National Examinations Locally – Msaka
MANEB Public Relations Officer Angel Kashitigu said the board is currently distributing identification cards to candidates across various districts and expects the exercise to be completed by the end of this week.
Kashitigu explained that MANEB is working closely with several stakeholders to ensure that the examinations are conducted in a secure, fair and credible manner.NBM plc donates K20 million to support girl-child education
“As we prepare for these examinations, we work with other stakeholders such as teachers who serve as supervisors and invigilators, as well as police and MDF officers who provide security at all centres to ensure the smooth administration of the exams,” she said.
She emphasized that the collaboration between MANEB, teachers, security agencies and other education partners is crucial in preventing examination malpractice and maintaining the integrity of the national examinations.
According to MANEB, a total of 197,502 candidates have registered to sit for this year’s MSCE examinations. Of these, 94,521 are female candidates while 102,981 are male candidates.
The examinations will commence on Monday, June 29, 2026, and conclude on July 24, 2026.MSCE Exams Commence On Good Note
Education stakeholders have expressed optimism that the examinations will proceed smoothly, with authorities putting in place measures to ensure all candidates have a conducive environment in which to sit their examinations.
The MSCE examination remains one of Malawi’s most important national assessments, serving as a key qualification for admission into tertiary institutions and various professional training programmes.
