Blantyre Mayor Isaac Jomo Osman has called on Malawians to pray for the country amid a fuel shortage that he says is causing significant hardship for people on the ground.
Osman described the situation as distressing, questioning how leaders in positions of power could sleep peacefully while ordinary Malawians continue to struggle to access fuel.
“To our friends in positions of power, are you really sleeping peacefully?” Osman asked.
He said people spending long hours at filling stations were facing mounting difficulties, adding that the situation was far from normal for those directly affected.
“Perhaps some of you are in your comfort zones, but for those of us on the ground, things are not going well,” he said.
Osman urged Malawians to dedicate time to praying for the country as the fuel shortage continues to raise concerns about its impact on people’s daily lives.
His remarks highlight concerns over fuel availability, particularly among motorists and other road users who depend on fuel for transport and business activities.
