Chris Bulakwacha…we will fight in defense of the constitution for the good of Malawians

Members of the Concerned Citizens in the Diaspora (COCIMADIA) and Malawians contributing to a radio listening programme in one of the local radio stations in Malawi, have vowed to work together as one to make sure that there should be no Parliament and government in Malawi after 21st May, 2024

COCIMADIA and Malawians contributing to the radio programme have appealed to the MCP led Tonse Alliance government to start the process of respecting the country’s Republican Constitution so that the Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec) starts to make a new electoral calendar for the elections to be held on 21st May, 2024.

Malawians and COCIMADIA have assured each other that they will start making contributions of a little one has so that the money be used to obtain a court injunction stopping the Executive Branch and Legislative Branch of government from proceeding ruling the country after 21st May, 2024.

Malawians contributing to the radio programme said they are all aware that Judges and Magistrates will throw out their application saying that will be an entry point for COCIMADIA to seek legal opinions from either SADC, African Union or International Court of Justice (ICJ).

During the radio programme, Malawians have argued that the Republican Constitution is very clear that elections must be held every after 5 years reminding all that one year was done by Professor Mutharika and Chakwera was supposed to serve for a four-year term not 5 years.

Malawians have labelled the 23rd June, 2020 elections as not free, fair, transparent and credible claiming that the Tonse Alliance is in government today through a judicial coup arguing that 50+1 majority is not in the Republican Constitution.

They have warned the MCP led government on the need to have an interim or caretaker government if it insists that the elections be held in September, 2025 but Malawians will not allow them to cross the 21st May, 2024.

COCIMADIAs Chairperson Comrade Chris Bulakwacha, has assured Malawians to trust them claiming that no one has sent them for their decision of taking elections in Malawi to be presided by over by courts outside Malawi saying Malawi cannot be bought by any price.

“We will go with Malawians together until such a time that Malawi starts following and respecting its own laws adopted in 1994 to 2019 and we will not allow anyone to rape our constitution,” he said.

On his part, Comrade Bantu Saunders Jumah, has appealed to patriotic Malawians not to allow money, face, tribe to twist their minds from justice but standing together with their constitution observing that legally elections were held in Malawi in 2019 while that of 2020 was repeated not fresh elections.

Jumah said countries such as Mozambique, South Africa and Namibia have been going to the elections on the same calendar with Malawi wondering why Malawi in 2025 appealing to the people that if it is to go to the streets, let all Malawians go for the Police to finish them all to defend and safeguard their Republican Constitution.
“With money or not, the Malawi Parliament will be dissolved on 21st May, 2024, there will be no government, an interim or caretaker authority will oversee the Tripartite General Elections of 16th September, 2025,” Malawians writing on the wall.
