Seasoned academic and strategist Dr Imuran Shareef Mahomed has joined Alliance for Democracy AFORD.
AFORD President Enock Chihana who has welcomed Dr Shareef, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Malawi says the joining of Dr Shareef is a big plus to the party as it prepares for next year’s national elections.
He says with regard to the portfolios Dr Shareef has served in Malawi, AFORD is optimistic that the former Public Affairs Committee and Muslim Association of Malawi Secretary General will greatly strengthen the party further with his knowledge and experience.
AFORD Vice President responsible for operations Timothy Mtambo, a former cabinet Minister attended the welcoming ceremony held at Chihana’s residence in Mzuzu today.
