Duo netted for house breaking in Blantyre

Mphatso Phiri, 38, and Shizz Madeya, 20, are behind bars for allegedly breaking into and robbing a Premier Bet Express shop in Bangwe Township in Blantyre.

Deputy Spokesperson for Limbe police station, Sub-Inspector Chibisa Mlimbika has confirmed the development.

He said on the night of February 28, 2024, the suspects broke into the shop and made off with 3 Samsung 42-inch plasma TV screens and 3 sets of Dell desktop computers, all valued above two million kwacha.

Mlimbika said after the incident Limbe Police launched an intelligence-driven operation, leading to the arrest of the duo on March 1, 2024.

“One plasma TV screen and one desktop were recovered and positively identified by the owners. Further investigations to recover the remaining items are underway,” he said.

Mphatso Phiri hails from Tsikulambwe village, while Shizz Madeya is from Mangulama Village, both in the area of Traditional Authority Nkalo in Chiradzulu district.
