FDH Bank And MUBAS Launch Graduate Start-up Programme

FDH Bank and Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) are this morning launching a MUBAS graduate start-up programme.

Authorities say the programme will require final year students to come up with innovative business ideas, which will later be funded by FDH, thereby promoting entrepreneurship and job creation.

MUBAS Vice Chancellor, Associate Professor, Nancy Chitera, has since asked the students to utilise the opportunity, saying the university is determined to promote research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Some of the FDH officials that are attending the event include the bank’s Deputy Managing Director, George Chitera, and Head of Marketing and Communication, Levi Nkunika, among others.

FDH Bank Deputy Managing Director, George Chitera, has asked Malawians graduates to shift their focus from being employed to creating jobs.

“If you want the government to do everything for you, then forget it. Let us start producing,” said Chitera.

He hopes graduates will create innovative business ideas that the bank is ready to fund so as to improve the lives of society.

He expressed these sentiments today during the launch of FDH Bank and the MUBAS start-up programme.
