The Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) has reportedly distanced itself from a letter circulating on social media that claims to disassociate the organisation from remarks attributed to Speaker of the National Assembly Sameer Gaffar Suleman.
However, the authenticity of the letter has been disputed, with claims that the document is fake.
The letter, dated October 19, 2026, bears the association’s name and the signature of its Secretary General, Alhaji Twaibu Lawe.
Malawi Freedom Network has independently verified the claim that the letter is fake. The association’s official position should be confirmed directly with its leadership before the document is reported as fraudulent.
