MDF Graduates 20 Senior Command Officers

Malawi Defense Force Commander Vincent Nundwe says plans are under way to have strategic programs aimed at upgrading the newly Commander Staff College to start offering Masters degrees.

Nundwe disclosed this on Saturday in Salima during the graduation of 20 Grade 2 Senior Command Officers and Staff Officers, who commenced their studies on 4th October last year, covering 46 weeks.

Their studies, included civil military relations and national security governance, among others.

The MDF leader said in collaboration with the Malawi University of Science and Technology – MUST they have introduced some courses at the MDF Commander Staff College in Salima.

Nundwe further added that the next cohort will start in January 2023 saying international standards will be enhanced.

MUST Vice Chancellor Prof. Address Malata said they would want to see a good representation of women in the courses coming while expressing worry as the currently cohort of graduates has only 3 women, out of 20.

She said the programs are designed to match with a global perspective in line with the United Nations goal on Peace and Security that includes elements that will help the nation to achieve Vision 2063.
