Mighty Wanderers Signed 175 million Mukuru Sponsorship

Mukuru, an international money transfer has today finally signed a sponsorship 175 million kwacha per year contract with league side Mighty Wanderers.

Through the sponsorship, the company takes over the naming rights and the team will subsequently be known as Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.

FAM President Walter Nyamilandu has since described the sponsorship as a milestone on Malawi football.

On his part, Richard Chimwendo, Minister of Sports has said government fully reckons the support from the corporate world on local football.

Fam President Walter Nyamilandu has urged Wanderers officials to prioritize the club rather than enriching themselves.

He is speaking at the launch of Wanderers and Mukuru sponsorship, where he has urged the team to be united saying the company will not allow its name to be dented.

Mukuru has pumped in K175 million annual sponsorship.

Wanderers Commercialisation Chairperson Clement Stambuli, speaking on behalf of the club’s president Thom Mpinganjira has requested government to pay off debt to Caf, amounting K59 million on behalf of the team.

He is speaking at the launch of the Wanderes and Mukuru partnership.
