President Chakwera arrives from Namibia

: President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has arrived from Windhoek, Nambia where he attended burial of the country’s president, Hage Geingob, who died on February 4, 2024, weeks after he was diagnosed with cancer.

Chakwera left the country Saturday morning through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in Lilongwe to attend the funeral of the late fallen leader.

Thousands of mourners gathered in Windhoek to bid farewell to the late President including 25 heads of state from different countries.

Upon his arrival at KIA this evening, Chakwera was welcomed by the Vice President Saulos Chilima; Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Collen Zamba; Minister of Homeland Security, Ken Zikhale Ng’oma, among other ministers, and traditional authorities.
