Ramadan To Trim Wanderers Squad

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Newly appointed head coach, Nsazurwimo Ramadan has confirmed that he will trim his squad as it is too big.

The Burundian mentor made the remarks barely days after being unveiled officially as the head coach for the team.

After thumping Ekhaya FC 7-0 in a training match, the former Flames Caretaker boss said he is currently collecting the date that he will use to chop down some players from the squad.

“I’m impressed with the squad that I have found here but you know it’s a little bit complicated because we need to register 30 players. We cannot take the whole space of 30 players, I think there will be a CHOP, that’s normal in football.

“We cannot work against the law, I wish I could have 50 players but the law doesn’t allow us to do that. I don’t know who will go but there will be a chop,” he said.

At least five players are expected to be shown an exit door from Wanderers following the already-departured Chiukepo Msowoya, Miracle Gabeya, Mathews Masamba, Adeleke Kalowole and Robin Ngalande.

“Ramadan impressed with the quality of players at Wanderers”

After overseeing the Nomads’ technical panel in their 7-0 win over the second-tier side, Ekhaya FC, Ramadan said he is impressed with the technical and tactical aspect that he has seen in his boys.

The team played two friendly matches against Ekhaya FC. The first game ended 5-0 in favour of the Nomads with Gaddie Chirwa and Lawrence Chaziya bagging a brace each while Wisdom Mpinganjira scored another goal.

The second game ended 2-0 in favour of Ramadan’s team with Clement Nyondo and Misheck Botoman on target.

“I’m very impressed because firstly when I came in, I did a big test to see their level of cardiovascular and it was very fantastic. If I see the team [when] playing against Ekhaya, I could see a lot of tactical and technical aspects of the game and I saw a lot, I’m really impressed,” he added.
