MUBAS To Construct 10,000 Hostels

The Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) has disclosed plans to construct 10, 000 capacity hostels in the next two years to ease accommodation challenges that students face. MUBAS Vice Chancellor, Nancy Chitera, says they now accommodate over 7, 500 students on campus and they target to host 30, 000 by the year 2030. She said this today in Blantyre during the first ever meeting that the university had with parents of the students.

The National Construction Industry Council of Malawi (NCIC) has partnered with the Malawi University of Business And Applied Sciences (MUBAS) to launch a clerk of works programme. Vice-Chancellor for MUBAS, Nancy Chitera, said the university produces engineers every year however it has been noted that there's a gap in service delivery hence the signing of the MOU to develop curriculum and launch the Clerk of Works Programme. "The University believes in innovation and creativity as one way of realizing pillar number three in Malawi 2063, we believe the development of the curriculum and launching of the Clerk of Works Programme at the university will help to close the gap of skilled workforce in the industry,’ said Chitera.
