Unima Hosts Research Dissemination Conference

The University of Malawi says it is committed to conducting robust research that can help to solve some of the country’s challenges.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Deputy Vice Chancellor of UNIMA, Sunduzwayo Madise, said UNIMA has over the years played a pivotal role in research, however, he said there was a need to disseminate the findings which will bring about the much needed change.

UNICEF co-funded the research dissemination conference and its Country Representative, Rudolf Schwenk, underscored the importance of research in the formulation of relevant and informed policy for children.

The conference has drawn the participation of academia, scholars, the National Planning Commission, National Commission for Science and Technology among others.

Professor Sosten Chiotha, who was a keynote speaker at the function delivered a presentation titled ‘Contribution of UNIMA towards national development.’

The conference is being held under the theme: the Promoting Relevant Research and Innovations: Gateway to Malawi 2063.
