Two people are in police custody at Ntchisi Police Station for allegedly stealing Central Region Water Board equipment estimated to be worth about six million kwacha.
Nchisi Police Spokesperson Yohane Tasowana, has identified the two suspects as Peter Mailesi Hassan, 32 and Mkasala James 45, and were arrested at Chinsapo in Lilongwe District where they have been hiding.
He says the police worked on a tip from well wishers that the two had stolen the said items at an ADMARC Depot in the district.

According to Tasowana, police have since recovered the stolen items adding that the duo will appear in court soon to answer the charges.
