Ministry of Agriculture has seconded director for the Department of Agriculture Extension Services, Jerome Chimg’onda Nkhoma, to Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (Admarc) as interim general manager.
This follows the suspension of Rhino Chiphiko from the position.
According to the ministry’s Principal Secretary Sandram Maweru, Nkhoma will serve in that capacity until all issues surrounding Chiphiko’s suspension are resolved.
Maweru, in a press statement Nation Online has seen, says Nkhoma’s secondment is effective today, Thursday May 26 2022.
Chiphiko’s suspension is to do with the purchase of his official Nissan Patrol vehicle at K107 million.
The purchase of the vehicle received backlash from critics who described it as extravagant for a public institution that survives on government bailouts and loans.
