Some concerned citizens led by Steven Chimwaza have disclosed plans to hold demonstrations in Blantyre on Tuesday against what they call poor governance by President Lazarus Chakwera’s administration.
Among others, Chimwaza cites high cost of living and failure to honour pledges made prior to the fresh presidential election in 2020.
Chimwaza also faults the judiciary for selective justice by the current regime citing an incident where some people carried panga knives during wednesday’s demonstrations in Lilongwe for allegedly pretending to protect their businesses.

They also blame Blantyre District Commissioner for limiting the number of gathering during demonstrations to 250 yet participants at this year’s International Trade Fair opening was beyond that figure.
