Chakwera To Address UNGA Today

As world leaders take turns to deliver speeches at the UN main deliberative organ, the general assembly, President Dr Lazarus Chakwera is scheduled to speak today at the General Assembly Hall in New York, United States of America.

President Chakwera’s speech comes barely a day after US President Joe Biden made his statement and two days after the UN Secretary-General Antonio Gutteres opened the assembly respectively.

Being held under the theme “A watershed moment; transformative solutions to interlocking challenges’, the 77th session of the UN General Assembly has converged over 190 heads of State and Government to tackle global challenges and shape the course of events that concern generations worldwide.

The President is expected to speak at 3 pm American local time and 9 pm Malawian local time.
