The Islamic Benefit Trust has today handed over 13 houses to people who were recently affected by tropical storm Ana in January this year in the area of Group Village Headman Nyundo, Traditional Authority Kasumbu in Dedza, to address accommodation challenges owing to the disaster.
The Trust’s Housing Coordinator Islamic Omar says at least 60 million kwacha has been spent to construct the houses as each was costing K2.5 million.
One of the benificiaries, a 77 year-old woman Chiwala Mbakeni who was staying in a tiny house lauded the organization for the timely interventions.
Among the benificiaries are the elderly, people with disabilities and custodians of orphans.
