Leader of Opposition in Parliament Kondwani Nankhumwa has asked government to end the fuel scarcity problem “once and for all”.

Nankhumwa who is also DPP vice president for the South made the remarks when he visited some fuel stations in Lilongwe.

He said it was sad and disturbing to see people abandoning their product activities to queue for fuel at filling stations.

“Government needs to address this. We cant continue on this trajectory. Government has to make itself present and address the problem,” said Nankhumwa.

If not addresses, he observed: “the situation would degenerate into a social economic crisis, because nothing seems to working; we dont have forex and we arent importing essential materials. This is killing the already fragile economy. We need an end to this”.
