President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has called on Malawians to ensure strict adherence to the rule of law for the nation to make meaningful progress.
Dr Chakwera was speaking during a rally at Pondamali Trading Centre in the area of Traditional Authority Kalumba in Lilongwe.
The Malawi leader urged people to be disciplined and selfless so that the country can experience meaningful development.
Speaking during the rally, Dr Chakwera called for collective responsibility in protecting the rights of others regardless of the region one is coming from.
The President also called for unity among all Malawians so that the country attains its aspirations as outlined in Malawi 2063.
He then urged the citizenry to desist from mob justice as well as accusing others of witchcraft.
The Malawi leader also warned people who perpetrate violence saying they will face the long arm of the law.
In conclusion, the President said truth and justice should prevail in the land for the good of posterity.
