The Blantyre City Council – BCC has suspended the opening of nursery schools and day care centers in the city with immediate effect.
The development is in response to the Presidential Taskforce on Coronavirus and Cholera move to postpone the opening of primary and secondary schools in Blantyre and Lilongwe cities.

A statement signed by the Acting Chief Executive Officer for BCC, Lytton Nkata, says the Council will announce the new dates the said schools will reopen in due course.
