A grouping of concerned citizens has been stopped from entering parliament premises to show their discontent over the interdiction of Martha Chizuma, ACB Director.

As a result, the grouping says it will hold demonstrations in the next days if the interdiction is not lifted.

Earlier on, members of the grouping gathered around the parliament premises to hold a vigil against the matter.

Bon Kalindo, leader of the concerned citizens said they have been blocked to enter into parliament following orders given to authorities manning the premises by sergeant at arms.

According to Kalindo, despite being blocked, they are together with some members of parliament who are inside parliament building discussing on the same issues surrounding Chizuma’s cases.

Meanwhile the grouping has resolved for what they have dubbed ‘Malawi shutdown’ meant to push for the resignation of President Lazarus Chakwera and Collen Samba as Secretary to President and Cabinet.

Zamba had in a statement said the interdiction follows the conduct of Chizuma in a leaked audio in which she detailed how efforts to tame corruption are being stifled in Malawi.
