President of the Super league of Malawi (SULOM) Fleetwood Haiya has vowed to make sure that teams participating in the Super league are financially stable.
Haiya made the pledge Friday in Mzuzu where he held a press briefing to reflect on his performance 90 days into the SULOM presidency.
He said his leadership will help clubs realize more revenue, adding that this season they will also roll out financial literacy training for club officials as well as players as one way of empowering them.
The SULOM President went on to call on government, the corporate world and other stakeholders to support efforts towards reforming Malawian football, saying they will get value for their investment.
In reaction, one of the invited guests to the presser, renowned social media influencer, Julius Zimwanda Mithi, said Haiya’s presidency is showing positive signs towards uplifting Malawian football.
Mithi added that by empowering clubs financially, it will be easy for them to attain professional status, a thing which will also make the league more financially attractive to investors and in the process Malawian football
