The Northern Region Police Headquarters is reaping significant benefits from corporate partnerships.

Recently, Kwawala Investments donated soccer equipment, enabling the police football team, Eagle Strikers, to competitively participate in the North Region Football Association (NRFA) Premier Division League.

This collaboration highlights the value of private sector support in enhancing police morale and community engagement.

Commenting on the improved performance of the police team in the NRFA Premier Division, Victor Charles Gondwe, proprietor of Kwawala Investments, expressed his excitement at seeing the team his enterprise supported reaching the high heights.

“We are thrilled that our support to the team has not been in vain. This motivates us to explore further ways to help them sustain their performance,” said Gondwe.

The patron of Eagle Strikers, Police Commissioner Richard Luhanga of the Northern Region Police Headquarters, could not hide his excitement as he attributed the team’s remarkable success in this year’s NRFA Premier Division to the involvement of corporate partners.

“It is my desire to produce a Super League team this year. When Kwawala Investments came forward and supported us with sports equipment, I made that point clear,” said Commissioner Luhanga.

He further explained that achieving good results in league matches is a way of expressing the deepest gratitude from the Northern Region Police Headquarters to those who support the team.

Unlike in the past, this year a total of 12 Mzuzu-based business entities, dubbed Mzuzu 12-Sponsors, merged and bankrolled the NRFA Premier League Division with K20 million for this season.

This development pushed the league sponsorship to K25 million, with co-sponsors Simama and Sons (Simso) General Dealers contributing K5 million, hence rebranding the league to NRFA Simso Mzuzu 12 Premier League Division.
