Gangata Denies Threatening Lawyer Kamangila; Amid Judicial Controversy

By Draxon Maloya

Managing Director of Masters Borehole Drilling Limited, Alfred Gangata has distanced himself from a letter circulating on social media associating him with threats to lawyer Alexious Kamangila.

Gangata said the letter in circulation lacks authenticity, bears no company’s official letterhead and a genuine signature.

He described the whole scenario as fake, only aimed at persecuting him politically using Kamangila’s quest to demand deep rooted corrupt practices elsewhere in government.

“Its funny, through what medium did Mr Kamangila received the said letter which has a fake letterhead and bears no signature?” quarried Gangata.

He further stated that he at any point in time has ever met or done anything wrong to Kamangila, as such he don’t think the learned lawyer can just Wake-Up and engaged a war against him for no apparent reason.

This morning,  lawyer Alexious Kamangila posted on his Facebook page as follows; “If this letter is legit, Mr Gangata don’t even dare waste Court’s time. I don’t know how I can talk, but do you see the tonnage,  the threats”.

Supporting Kamangila’s course, Civil Society Organizations have united in a powerful call for judicial accountability, urging the judiciary to end its culture of impunity and protect justice and the rule of law.

MLS President Patrick Mpaka have also registered the concern during a meeting with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe, focusing on the importance of advocating for the timely tabling in parliament and implementation of some important bills.
