The Government of Malawi, through the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, is launching the 2024 Social Protection Week at Bvumbwe in Thyolo District.
The Ministry of Finance states that these initiatives aim to address the nation’s social welfare needs, with a focus on creating inclusive policies to support vulnerable populations.
The event has brought together stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, development partners, and community leaders, to foster discussions on challenges, share best practices, and exchange ideas to strengthen Malawi’s social protection systems.
This year’s Social Protection Week, themed “Social Protection for Inclusive Human Capital Development in Malawi Building Resilient Societies,” is being officiated by the Minister of Gender, Community Development and Social Welfare, Hon Jean Sendeza.
