As the UTM convention draws near, I come to you with a heart full of hope and a voice echoing with the wisdom of our ancestors.
“The antelope does not jump blindly; it knows where it will land.” Delegates, I urge you to choose wisely. The choice you make today will shape the future of your party and will leave legacy for generations to come.
UTM was born from the courage and vision of Saulos Klaus Chilima—a vision of integrity, resilience, and true commitment to the people of Malawi.
Yet as the convention approaches, there are whispers and dangers on the horizon. Beware, for “A man who tries to serve two masters will betray one.”
There are those who may come forward, not for the love of UTM, but with divided hearts, hidden allegiances, and eyes set on other agendas.
Our ancestors teach us, “A house cannot be built by those who secretly tear down its walls.” UTM needs a leader with unwavering loyalty, one who will serve your party and its people with a single purpose.
A leader who serves two masters cannot give his all to UTM; his loyalty will be tested, and his true motives will show in the moments that matter most.
Delegates, be wise like the owl that sees in the dark. Remember, “The shepherd who leaves the flock to chase after a mirage will return to find his sheep gone.”
UTM cannot be led by someone with one foot in another camp. If you hand over your party to such a person, you betray the foundation that Chilima laid, and you will weaken the very heart of UTM.
Always remember that “A tree without roots will fall in the storm.” Chilima’s vision is the root of UTM; it is what gives your party strength, purpose, and direction.
To honor that vision, you must choose a leader who will stand firm, dedicated only to UTM and to the vision of change and progress for all Malawians.
A leader divided in spirit will break the branches of this tree, leaving UTM weakened and vulnerable to the winds of division.
Iam not a prophet of doom I say to you this UTM delegates, “He who is wise counts his footsteps; he who is foolish stumbles blindly.”
Look closely at those who seek to lead. Ask yourself, who stands purely with UTM?
Who has the heart and loyalty to carry your vision forward? Choose a leader with strong roots and clear purpose, one who will not serve two masters or abandon your people in the hour of need.“
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Let your convention be one step forward toward a strong future, a future built on loyalty, unity, and an unbreakable dedication to UTM.
In your hands lies the torch that will light your way as the party.
Choose wisely, for today’s decision will echo into tomorrow’s destiny.
