Jeremiah Mwaungulu, popularly known for his role as “Chisi” in the renowned television drama Tikuferanji, has officially announced his departure from the show. Tikuferanji, a beloved program aired on MBC, has been a staple of Malawian entertainment for years, addressing social issues through its compelling storytelling.
In a brief statement confirming the news, Mwaungulu said, “Yes, I can confirm that I have left,” but he did not disclose the reasons behind his decision to leave the production.
Mwaungulu has been part of Tikuferanji since 2003, making him one of the show’s longest-serving cast members. His portrayal of “Chisi” earned him widespread recognition and cemented his status as a household name in Malawi.
In addition to his work on Tikuferanji, Mwaungulu recently showcased his theatrical talents in a stage play, Reverend Bolamoyo, performed in Lilongwe with the Waz Arts Theatre group. The play demonstrated his versatility and continued commitment to the arts.
