Political activist Bon Kalindo has thanked the Public Affairs Committee (PAC) for finally coming too late from there 4 year’s silence telling President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera that the political atmosphere has put the MCP on the exit stage and even in his strongholds, the doubt on the winning is loud and clear.
Kalindo said had it been the PAC told Chakwera 2 years ago that Malawians have lost trust and confidence in him, he would have resigned as per his promise that if he doesn’t perform better in two years he will resign but has failed to do so because his ministers were telling him lies that things are better with the MCP government.
He said now that President Chakwera has read the signs on the wall brought by PAC after closing his ears from listening to the voices of constructive criticism, it is now time for all churches in Malawi to preach to their congregations that there is no hope for Chakwera to bounce back into government on 16th September, 2025.
Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo has advised opposition political parties DPP, AFORD, UTM, PP and UDF not to be carried away with the statement that Smartmatic Machine is down observing that this can be a deliberate plan by the MCP to fool Malawians after removing the information from it and storing it somewhere.
Kalindo has asked the opposition parties to put to paper their signatures that manual counting of votes and transmission will be done as in the previous elections from constituency to District and to the main tally centre located at the City Centre in Lilongwe.
“Malawians are looking forward to have a free and fair elections with manual counting of votes not Smartmatic but this demand Mec and opposition party’s signatures,” he said.
On a sad note, Kalindo said he has learnt with a great shock and dismay that MACRA has awarded 1,500,057.59 US Dollars which is approximately K5 Billion contract to a Ghanaian company –HASHCOM to supply, delivery, installation, commissioning and testing of integrated system to track misinformation and disinformation trends in Malawi.
Kalindo said while it is a fact that hospitals are running without drugs, no forex, no fertilizer and no fuel, the whole MCP government neglecting matters of national concern spending K5 billion for a machine to track Bakili Muluzi TV, Comrade Mtanyiwa, himself and other activists, Malawi is a country of shame.
He has questioned the MCP government why procuring a machine of threatening people in a country of democracy assuring it that he is ready to be arrested by HASHCOM saying the MCP government is being run by mafias and crooks.
The activist has assured MACRA to bless itself for more troubles reminding it that Malawi is a democratic country and will never and ever be a one-party state and dictatorship just in the same way the MCP is wishing taking the citizens for granted.
