By Comrade jumbe.
“When the house is on fire do not waste time chasing rats”
Malawi is currently at a breaking point, and the cries for change echo in every village, every street, and every home.
The people have been thrown into the lion’s den by a government that has failed them. The time for excuses is over. We do not care who steps in next—as long as they bring the change that will rescue our nation from the grip of this sufferings and poverty.
Let us be clear: “When the crocodiles fight in the river, the fish suffer.” Opposition parties must recognize that their battles are not their own; they are battles for the soul of the nation.
If they continue to tear each other apart, MCP will once again take advantage and hold on to power. And if that happens, “the hunter will continue to eat while the entire village starves.”
The Danger of Division
To Bakili Muluzi TV, let wisdom guide your words. “He who lights a fire must be careful not to burn his own house.”
Demonizing UTM while glorifying DPP is not the answer. There are no saints in Malawian politics—only those who have failed in different ways.
This is not the time to create unnecessary battles that weaken the opposition. If the opposition does not unite, Malawians will pay the price.
“The bird that argues with the wind will never build its nest.” No single opposition party can win this battle alone—not even DPP.
The only way forward is through unity. If we fail to come together, we will be sentencing Malawi to another five years of misery.
“The wise man does not destroy the bridge after crossing the river.” Bakili Muluzi, you are one of our own.
We will not throw you to the sea, but remember this: “A man who walks too close to the fire should not be surprised when his clothes catch flames.” This government sees you as a target. Do not give them the rope to hang you. Instead, use your voice to bring the opposition together—to call for unity instead of division.
Malawi cannot afford another mistake. The people are suffering, and their patience has worn thin. “When the sun rises, it does not ask permission; it simply shines.” The time for change is now. The time for unity is now. Let those who have ears hear, and let those who have wisdom act before it is too late.
My pen is mightier than a sword.
