President and Commander in Chief of Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) Bantu Saunders Jumah, has called on Parliament to amend, review and revisit its standing orders for Speaker of Parliament and Leader of Government Business in the house to cease their political party ground.
Jumah has noted with a great concern that Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani-Hara, Leader of the House Richard Chimwendo Banda and First Vice Speaker of Parliament Madalitso Kazombo, are holding senior positions in the MCP a development which has turn the Malawi Parliament into an all MCP affair.
He said the Malawi Parliament is a politicized institution claiming that three senior MCP members are in a multiparty Parliament speaking for itself that Malawi is now out of multiparty politics and out of democracy.
Speaking through a Revolutionary voice, Jumah said Leader of the House Richard Chimwendo Banda acted in un parliamentary manner when he threatened Member of Parliament for Blantyre City South East Sameer Suleman that he was crossing the red line.
Jumah has asked President Chakwera on why he is still keeping Chimwendo Banda doubling positions, Secretary General of the Party and Leader of the House describing this as double standards, he need to go and run the affairs of the party.
In Parliament, standing to contribute on the motion-SONA delivered by President Chakwera on Friday, 14th February, 2025 Suleman did not miss words that President Chakwera lied to the nation in his SONA and the best of what he can do is to resign for presenting lies in a house of records or Parliament to impeach him.
Jumah has advised President Chakwera that for his disgraced SONA he should fire all those that gave him wrong information to present in Parliament and to honorably accept that he lied to the nation on the claims that each and every human being is reliable for mistakes.
“Mr. President, stand up and apologize to the nation for the lies and if you cannot do this, fire all those that gave you wrong information,” he said.
He has expressed his grave concern that most areas in Malawi are not developing beside having MPs in Parliament case in point, they cannot express themselves in Parliament observing that out of 193 parliamentarians in the house, only 20 to 21 speak fluent English.
The MRP President has called on Parliament to introduce local language in the house observing that in the whole house, there is no British and they are giving each other headache as one is forced to speak a language which he or she is not familiar with.
He said Parliament must have translators for those that are failing to express themselves in English saying this will pave way for each and every MP to take part in the deliberations of the house preferring “ChiMalawi” be introduced to replace Chichewa-the language spoken by one tribe.

Jumah has finally warned Malawians that they should not make a mistake on the 16th September, 2025 elections to vote for Muvi wa Chilungamo assuring them that all the nonsense they are seeing today, will be songsm. of yesterday.
