Political activist Bon Kalindo says Prophet Shephered Bushiri’s extradition to South Africa is a political matter and as a result, it must be treated politically with a political solution bearing the fact that if Bushiri is killed, Malawians are the ones that have killed him.
Kalindo said the case of Bushiri has proved to Malawians that they don’t love one another claiming that some politicians have benefited from Bushiri’s money and after eating the money, they have come up with a decision of handing over to his enemies in South Africa to be killed.
He said Malawi is a country of shame that even Malawians that are living in South Africa, they are sailing through tortures, their goods confiscated and thrown into Prisons waiting for deportations, but Malawi leaders have said nothing.
Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo said the Malawi High Commissioner to South Africa, has remained to be of no useful to the suffering Malawians besides her office receiving numerous concerns in the way the South Africans are treating Malawians.
Kalindo said in other countries like Israel, people like Bushiri cannot be handed out to another country to answer charges of various offenses committed, they are defended to the maximum security making the two countries to open discussions to find one solution.
He said in Israel, people like Prophet Bushiri when they are in trouble in a foreign country, they could be airlifted back to their country and negotiations after, taking safety of their citizens as a priority and not Malawi which clap hands when they hear that such person is in trouble out of greed.
The activist has claimed that even in Mozambique, Malawians are being beaten, whipped and going through all sorts of tortures, but at no time the Government of Malawi condemned this in strongest terms possible but praising the cordial relationship existing between the two countries.
“It is obvious that Bushiri in South Africa cannot receive fair treatment and justice urging the government to invite the South Africans to try Bushiri right in his home country,” said Kalindo.
He has reminded the Government of Malawi that Bushiri’s daughter lost his life and is smelling dust in the grave because of political influence of the MCP government to let the child fly out of the country for treatment in time.
Kalindo said Malawians are praising Prophet Bushiri, Prophet Nyangulu of Mchinji, Prophet Mbewe and others, more than the MCP government itself for distributing free maize bags across the country to the needy people claiming that even others, have benefited lot from him in time of disasters.
He said what the MCP government knows best in government is stealing from the poor observing that some of the MCP officials were behind stealing relief food meant to the poor for their own benefit other than that of the country and its citizens.
Kalindo has finally urged the MCP government under President Chakwera to take politics out and save one of the country’s soils Prophet Bushiri from being hanged to death in South Africa claiming that after being killed, the very same government will accord him a State funeral and a Guard of Honor.
