Social commentator Isaiah Emmanuel Sunganimoyo (Mbewe Wa Dzalanyama), says as the nation is approaching the 16th September, 2025 General elections, there is a great need for President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to consider endorsing two remarkable women, Catherine Gotani-Hara and Abida Sidik Mia as his running mate.

Sunganimoyo said endorsing one of these two women would not only be a testament to President Chakwera’s commitment to gender equality but also a powerful symbol of his wisdom for a more inclusive and compassionate Malawi.

He said it is imperative for President Chakwera to choose one of his current female Vice Presidents as his running mate other than endorsing someone from another party coming in the name of the electoral Alliance saying this decision would ensure continuity, stability, and effective leadership.

The commentator said by appointing a female Vice President, President Chakwera would be promoting gender equality, empowering women, unlocking their potential for the nation’s development expressing hope that the wisdom of President Chakwera would be guided by the spirit of unity, compassion, and progress.

Sunganimoyo said as women’s right advocates and emphasizes “Nothing for us without us” decisions about women’s participation in leadership should be made with their involvement saying this bold move symbolizes define feminine energy, compassion and wisdom guiding the nation towards a path of empathy, understanding., and collective progress.

He said the visionary leadership is crucial for the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and the nation saying it amplifies the voices of women in decision-making, fosters a culture of care and compassion and embodies the values of empathy and wisdom.

The social commentator said the Constitution has already paved way for this progressive step by creating two offices of the Vice Presidents saying this framework provides a solid foundation for effective governance and shared leadership.

He has advised President Chakwera the benefits of running government with these two female Vice Presidents Catherine Gotani-Hara and Abida Sidik Mia that his leadership will be strengthened, foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork, bring diverse perspectives expertise and inspire a new generation of women leaders.

Sunganimoyo said Catherine Gotani-Hara and Abida Sidik Mia have already proved loyalty and dedication to President Chakwera’s leadership and endorsing one as his Vice President will make them ideal candidates to take on this critical role.

“Let us embark on this journey together, embracing the divine feminine energy that guides us towards a brighter future,” said Sunganimoyo.

He has finally warned President Chakwera that if he decides to appoint another person not one of these two women, his leadership would face challenges because the Vice President will try to hide his leadership as it happened in the previous years.
