There is renewed optimism for stronger trade and investment ties between Malawi and the United Kingdom following a high-level UK-Malawi Business Roundtable held in London, where the UK-Malawi Chamber of Commerce announced plans to establish its first permanent office in Malawi.
The roundtable brought together business leaders, investors and government representatives from both countries to explore opportunities for expanding bilateral trade and strengthening commercial partnerships across key sectors, including agriculture, mining, energy, healthcare, tourism, financial services and technology.Embassy of Ireland Support Malawi With K2 Billion
Speaking during the event, British High Commissioner to Malawi, , said the long-standing relationship between the United Kingdom and Malawi, built on mutual respect and shared ambition, continues to provide a solid foundation for deeper economic cooperation.
She said the discussions highlighted the critical role of the private sector in driving sustainable economic growth and expressed confidence that the engagements would lead to meaningful business partnerships capable of delivering lasting economic benefits for both nations.
