Jumah calls Bakili Muluzi to meet Chakwera over firing Police Chief

By Vincent Gunde

President of the 14th Revolutionary Spear, Muvi wa Chilungamo Bantu Saunders Jumah the Utopian, has called upon Former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi, Catholic Bishops, and Paramount Chiefs to sit down with President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to tell him face to face that by failing to fire Inspector General of Police Merlyn Yolamu, he has failed the citizens of Malawi.

Jumah has blamed the government of the day-the MCP for failing to uphold the rule of law in Malawi claiming that the country is running without laws and is under political party domination as laws driving the country.

He said for 61 years of the country’s independence, Malawi Police Service and Malawi Defense Force have been executing their mandate of enforcing the law but, this time in the government of the MCP they have failed, they are involved in politics of the government of the day.

Speaking through his revolutionary voice, Jumah said Army Commander and Inspector General of Police have the duty to tell the appointing authority that their mandate is to make sure that the laws are being enforced and not participating fully in the government of the day’s politics.

Jumah said the way the Police and military are enforcing the law, is partisan, favoring the government of the day saying what happened at Mbowe filling station, Mponela, Machinga, and the recent incident where activist Sylvester Namiwa was assaulted in full view of security officers, must be depoliticized if this country is to maintain peace.

He said the incident in Lilongwe has happened after Police chief assured an all- inclusive Public Affairs Committee (PAC) conference in Blantyre that she will brought to book all the MCP thugs that have been terrorizing and hacking innocent people in the country.

Jumah has also condemned the recent remarks made by Minister of Information Moses Kunkuyu that Malawians should not be complaining that Activist Sylvester Namiwa was assaulted in full view of security officers claiming that this is the same with the DPP advising the Minister that two wrongs do not make one right.

He said if the government elected in June, 2020 delivered its promises, the country could not reach the stage where it has reached today saying the MCP had enough time 5 years to bring justice but has failed citing cases of the Tambala family, Issa Njaunju, and others, claiming that all the suspected killers are free under the MCP government.

“Malawians are going to the streets because of your failure in government, in 2019 they did the same to the DPP and Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika,” said Jumah.

He said without truth, Malawi is going into war as two wrongs will never make one right saying truth must be told that the country needs laws urging the police to stand for the country to be enforcing the laws not political parties.

Jumah said if truth is to be served, the government of President Chakwera and the MCP through Malawi Police Service and Malawi Defense Force, has failed the people of Malawi saying this is a recipe for war in Malawi.
