Political activist Bon Kalindo, has expressed his grave concern over the situation at the Mzuzu Central Hospital that it is being run without an X-Ray machine describing this as a worrisome development to patients and guardians.
Kalindo said Mzuzu Central Hospital being a referral hospital, receives patients from all districts in the Northern Region of Malawi and these patients are being referred to a certain organization- MACRO which has an X-Ray machine.
He said 3 months have gone with the problem growing dust at nobody’s care and even President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera himself is not aware that patients going for X-Ray machine at the Mzuzu Central Hospital are being examined using a van from MACRO.
Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo said patients are being lifted up the stairs of the MACRO Van a development which is putting them at risk of their lives in a country where the President and his Vice, are busy distributing K50,000s free for all money to the electorate to bounce back into government.
Kalindo has claimed that if President Chakwera was aware of the situation at the Mzuzu Central Hospital for no X-Ray machine, he would have stopped his campaign strategy of dishing out K50,000s for the money to be directed towards procuring an X-Ray machine for Mzuzu Central Hospital.
He said it is sad that President Chakwera is inviting various groups of people to State House to dine with him and in the end, dishing out K50,000s to them to be used as transport refunds while the whole truth is that State House has hired lorries, buses and minibuses to be ferrying people.
The activist said without shame, President Chakwera is going to the Northern Region of Malawi to launch his campaign of bouncing back into government in a journey which will take him to Mzimba where he will be officially open a not fully finished Mbelwa stadium.
He said Mbelwa stadium is not completed just the same as Mombera University whose first intake was supposed to be done on the 5th February, 2025 but it was completed on paper while on the ground, there is nothing, billions of Kwachas went into politician’s pockets.
Kalindo said President Chakwera after failing his promises to construct Mombera university in Mzimba, he wants to heal the wounds of shame through the opening of the stadium that he has delivered in the eyes of the people.
“President Chakwera will take the opening of the Mbelwa stadium as a campaign weapon to deceive the people of the North that he has delivered in 5 years,” said Kalindo.
He has encouraged people in the Northern Region of Malawi to warmly welcoming President Chakwera as he is not coming empty, he is coming with the K50,000s free for all money advising them to receive the money and give him a vote of no confidence on the 16th September, 2025 elections.
