Kukoma Ntopwa Football Club is expected to touch down in South Africa this morning ahead of their participation in the 2025 COSAFA Women’s Champions League.
The Malawian side left Blantyre yesterday, making a connection through Nairobi, Kenya, before continuing their journey to Johannesburg.
Ntopwa will open their campaign on Friday with a tough encounter against defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies.
The trip comes after weeks of uncertainty, as the club nearly pulled out of the tournament due to financial difficulties. However, through determination and last-minute support, the team managed to secure the resources needed to represent Malawi on the regional stage.
Ntopwa will be carrying the country’s hopes in the prestigious competition, which brings together the best women’s football clubs in Southern Africa
