DPP Open to Alliances

Mwanamveka also extended an invitation to other political parties to consider forming alliances with the DPP, emphasizing that the party’s doors remain open for collaboration. He highlighted that the DPP enjoys strong grassroots support in the Southern Region, a region that has produced several key presidential aspirants in Malawi’s political landscape.

Call to Support Peter Mutharika

In his address, Mwanamveka dismissed claims from rival parties seeking to weaken the DPP, saying their efforts would not succeed. He urged Malawians to rally behind former president Peter Mutharika, describing him as the best choice for steering Malawi’s economy and governance in the right direction.

“Other parties want to bring us down, but their efforts will be in vain. The people of Malawi know that the DPP has the experience and vision to move the country forward,” Mwanamveka said.

Focus on 2025 Elections

With the September 16, 2025, elections fast approaching, the DPP has intensified its campaign across the country. Mwanamveka’s remarks come as the party works to consolidate support in its traditional stronghold while also reaching out to undecided voters.

Political analysts note that alliances could play a crucial role in shaping Malawi’s election outcome, and Mwanamveka’s invitation signals the DPP’s readiness to build broader coalitions.
