A Concerned citizen of Malawi residing at Area 51 in Lilongwe- Mrs. Elizabeth Kaliza Banda, has backed former President who is also DPP leader Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s speech telling the UTM to go to the MCP.
Speaking during the 2025 launch of DPP manifesto held at Chilimampunga ground in Mtandire location- Lilongwe on Saturday, Professor Mutharika said it is the UTM which made the MCP to win the June, 2020 elections.
Professor Mutharika said today they are feeling pain and are regretting to have joined the MCP and want to come back to the DPP the party they described it as bad advising them to go to the MCP where they have been for the past 5 years.
Mutharika said this is the last time to respond to the UTM saying he is hoping that they will stop that nonsense assuring them that he has no time for nonsense warning them to stop that stupidity, and stop forever.
Kaliza Banda said the way UTM senior members are treating Professor Mutharika, they are not respecting him as an elderly person and former President of the Republic of Malawi, they are taking him as nobody on the land of Malawi
She said Professor Mutharika telling the UTM to go to MCP, it is a heavy blow to the UTM to market itself and their leader Dr. Dalitso Kabambe as their supporters’ eyes will be on Mutharika and not President Chakwera saying UTM membership will now be seen to be decreasing every day.
The citizen said if Dr. Kabambe was intelligent enough to advance in his political ambitions, he would have accepted any position in the alliance including that of Minister of Finance but his demands were more than the alliance itself.
She said Dr. Kabambe had a brighter future in politics but all this has been swart because he is eyeing for presidency while it is totally unacceptable for one district- Thyolo to produce a President and running mate in one political party.
Kaliza said it is now clear that just like UDF candidates for MPs and councilors have put the record straight that they will be campaigning for Professor Mutharika, UTM members and supporters, will also cast their votes on Mutharika.
She has warned Dr. Kabambe and Atupele Muluzi that by casting and insulting Professor Mutharika, there political future is hanging in the balance because Malawians that have been crying for one to liberate them, have found this in Professor Mutharika.
The citizen has joined all those that are saying Dr. Kabambe and Atupele Muluzi are MCP agents assuring the two that they will go alone but their members and supporters will rally behind Professor Mutharika for presidency on the 16th September, 2025 elections.
“Opposition leaders castigating a fellow opposition leader, whew else has this happened? The agenda of taking UDF and UTM supporters to the MCP and President Chakwera is dead before arrival,” said Kaliza Banda.
