A Malawi Congress Party (MCP) diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Mr. Rodgers Kamphangala, has called on Nkhoma CCAP Synod to institute its survey in its churches for the members to answer a question who to be voted for between President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.
Kamphangala said it is sad that some people in the Nkhoma CCAP Church are giving false hopes to President Chakwera that Malawians are rallying behind him and all will vote for him on the 16th September, 2025 elections.
He said Malawians including members of the Nkhoma CCAP Synod have gone through pain and sufferings under the leadership of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his MCP saying this is why they are looking for proven leadership in Professor Mutharika.
Kamphangala was commenting on Nkhoma University Vice Chancellor’s remarks at the graduation ceremony who told President Chakwera openly that Nkhoma CCAP Synod is disputing the results of the Institute of Public Opinion and Research Survey (IPOR) that has put Professor Mutharika at 41 percent of winning the elections with President Chakwera coming second with 31 percent.
The Nkhoma University Vice Chancellor said the IPOR survey is the same as Mock Examinations that one can fail but on the last examination, passes with good grades meaning that the whole Nkhoma CCAP Synod is not accepting the IPOR survey.
Kamphangala has assured Nkhoma CCAP Synod that once conducting its survey among all of its members, the truth can come out clearly that Malawians have lost trust in President Chakwera’s leadership.
He has advised Nkhoma CCAP Synod clerics that if they are eating MCP money for them to shut their mouth, this does not mean that all members in the church are better, many people are spending sleepless nights praying for a better tomorrow.
“Millions of Malawians are sleeping and walking with empty stomachs and have no hope for a better tomorrow,” said Kamphangala.
He said the better part the Synod can do is to advise President Chakwera on the areas he has lost trust with his people for him to know the truth that Malawians are against his leadership to bounce back while a few individuals including his ministers are the ones that are pushing hard for Chakwera’s leadership not to be ousted from government.
The MCP diehard said if he was one of Chakwera’s advisors, he would have told him the truth that even the walls have ears, he will only be voted back into government by the Smartmatic machines not the people’s vote.
He has finally urged Nkhoma CCAP Synod to pray for the Judicial review case between Mec and opposition political parties on the use of Smartmatic machines to be transmitting election results and Mec rejections of independent ICT auditors to verify the voters’ roll on Monday. 8th September, 2025 Saying the ruling will guide on whether the country should continue enjoying peace and calm or not.
