Lilongwe, Malawi – The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding every vote cast by Malawians in the ongoing 2025 elections, stressing that it will rely on credible evidence to ensure transparency.

Speaking at a press briefing in Lilongwe, DPP’s Director of Elections, Jean Mathanga, dismissed results being circulated on social media by the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), claiming they were generated using artificial intelligence (AI) and fraudulent documents.

Mathanga noted that while some election results may show irregularities, the DPP maintains confidence in the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) and its ongoing process of reviewing results. She emphasized that isolated cases of irregularities should not be used as grounds to claim that the elections were rigged.Where Is the MCP NEC? Party Supporters Question Vitumbiko Mumba’s Role

“We are confident in the MEC process and we will defend every vote that Malawians have cast. What we reject are results fabricated through AI and fake documents being shared online,” said Mathanga.

The DPP also expressed satisfaction with how the electoral process has been handled so far. However, Mathanga raised concerns about the involvement of the police in MEC’s work, particularly the arrest of individuals suspected of tampering with election results without properly engaging election stakeholders.

She urged the authorities to ensure transparency and fairness in handling such sensitive matters to avoid undermining public confidence in the elections.Limpopo FM accuses Vitumbiko Mumba of planning to hack BMTV
