The Minister and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Central Region Vice President, Right Honourable Alfred Gangata, has officially begun his duties with a strong call to Malawi’s youth to embrace self-reliance, discipline, and unity as key pillars for national development.

Speaking during a special meeting with young people from the Central Region, Hon. Gangata said the DPP remains committed to empowering the youth to become productive citizens and responsible leaders of tomorrow. He urged young Malawians to focus on positive change, entrepreneurship, and democratic values.

“We want our youth to be self-reliant, responsible, and respectful. They must uphold our culture, embrace unity, and contribute to building a better Malawi,” said Hon. Gangata.

Gangata emphasized that the future of Malawi depends on the mindset and participation of its youth. He encouraged them to avoid divisive politics and instead work together for the common good of the nation.

The Minister further praised young people across the country for their contribution to national progress, noting that their energy and innovation are vital to achieving the visionary leadership agenda of Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, President of the Democratic Progressive Party.

“It is our collective duty to fulfill Professor Mutharika’s vision by investing in the youth, who are the driving force behind Malawi’s social and economic growth,” he added.

Gangata’s message comes at a time when the DPP is intensifying its engagement with youth across Malawi, aiming to inspire them to take part in entrepreneurship, education, and community development programs.

He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to ensuring that the youth are given opportunities to participate meaningfully in governance, business, and decision-making processes — a move that aligns with the DPP’s long-term vision of transforming Malawi into a self-reliant, democratic, and prosperous nation
