Honorable Peter Mukhito has officially taken the oath of office as Malawi’s Minister of Homeland Security on Sunday, 2 November 2025.

In addition to the oath of office, Mukhito also took the oath of allegiance, pledging to serve the nation with integrity, dedication, and commitment to safeguarding citizens.

His appointment comes at a time when Malawi faces multiple security challenges, and effective leadership in the Ministry of Homeland Security is critical for maintaining public order and safety.

Observers note that Mukhito’s tenure will be closely watched as he is expected to implement policies and initiatives that strengthen law enforcement, border control, and overall security infrastructure in the country.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by government officials, colleagues, and well-wishers who expressed confidence in Mukhito’s ability to deliver on his mandate and enhance national security.
