Member of Parliament for Central East Constituency in Ntcheu, who is also the Deputy Minister of Homeland Security, Norman Chisale, has donated motorcycles to seven traditional leaders as part of his ongoing effort to improve mobility and strengthen community leadership structures.
Chisale handed over Lifo and King Lion brand motorcycles to the following chiefs:
Group Village Headman Gwedeza
Group Village Headman Mandala
Group Village Headman Champiti
Group Village Headman Wanyemba
Group Village Headman Pheza
Group Village Headman Chingwalu
Senior Chief Champiti

According to Chisale, the donation fulfills a promise he made earlier to the traditional leaders. He said the motorcycles will assist chiefs in traveling across their jurisdictions, improving coordination of development programs, security matters, and community mobilization.

“We want our leaders to reach their people easily and continue supporting government development plans without mobility challenges,” said Chisale.
Over 5,000 Households Receive Food Support
In addition to the motorcycles, more than 5,000 community members from Traditional Authority Champiti and Makwangwala received 10kg bags of maize flour. The gesture comes at a time when many households are facing rising food prices and shortages.

Senior Chief Champiti expressed gratitude, noting that the assistance has arrived at the right time when many families were struggling.
“We thank the honorable MP for remembering us. This support shows that he cares about the well-being of people in our area,” said Senior Chief Champiti.
Boosting Local Development and Community Welfare
The donation is expected to enhance local development work, ease transportation for chiefs, and provide relief to vulnerable households.
The initiative aligns with government efforts to strengthen community leadership and promote social welfare programs across rural areas of Malawi.
