A concerned citizen of Malawi residing at Area 51 in Lilongwe Mrs. Elizabeth Kaliza Banda, has warned MCP youth to accept that President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is no longer President of the country and any illegal activities against the new government of the DPP, will take them to Maula Prison.
Kaliza has sounded the warning following a front- page story of the Daily Times that the opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has claimed that at least 19 Warrants of Arrests have been issued to some senior members of the party.
Alleged confirmed reports coming from a get together party which was held at Kabwabwa School ground in Area 25- Lilongwe hosted by MCP officials for Lilongwe City Dzenza constituency are indicating that MCP youth have been encouraged to hold violent demonstrations when one MCP member has been arrested.
At the meeting, MCP youth were asked to mobilize themselves once hearing the arrest of any member of the party with assurance that lorries are ready to take them to where they will be holding demonstrations and back to their destinations.
Kaliza Banda said this meeting was arranged after President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera appeared for the first time from his election defeat to meet MCP youth who gathered at the party’s national headquarters in Lilongwe where some few misguided members of the MCP endorsed him to stand in the 2030 presidential elections.
Kaliza Banda has reminded the MCP that for 5 years of President Chakwera they gave no chance to activists holding peaceful demonstrations and opposition party rallies taking demonstrations as not important.
She said after noting that the MCP and President Chakwera are out of government, they have valued holding demonstrations against President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika as important advising them that MCP police and MDF have gone together with President Chakwera and the country has police and MDF officers who are for the people not a political party.
The citizen has assured MCP that Malawians will not allow them to hold any demonstration in the country saying it is very unfortunate that those that are being encouraged to go to the streets have only benefited from drinking maheu.
She said MCP was arresting senior members of the DPP for politically motivated charges which the DPP described it as political witch-hunting saying today, MCP members will be arrested for thieving without mercy thereby destroying the country.
Kaliza Banda has asked well- meaning youth not to participate in any demonstration against the arrest of some senior members of the MCP warning them that if they are arrested, nobody in the MCP will go to court to file for their court bail.
“I urge all MCP youth to refrain from being used by failed politicians in the party as tools to disrupt peace and order in Malawi, remember DPP is a system, you will be jailed for life,” said Kaliza.
She has further advised MCP senior members that at the time they were stealing and looting public resources for mansions and exorbitant lives, these MCP youth were not there and mobilizing them to incite political violence against the new government of the DPP, they will be charged of treason.
