Mulli Brothers Holdings has reiterated that it does not engage in political activities, emphasizing that its core mandate remains business growth and service delivery.
Speaking in an interview, Managing Director of Mulli Brothers Holdings, Joseph Khupe, said the company deliberately stepped away from politics to concentrate on productive engagement with government and non-governmental institutions.
“Political matters are behind us. At this point, our focus is purely on business—working with government and other stakeholders outside government,” said Khupe.
Khupe noted that despite the company’s growth and contribution to the economy, it continues to face challenges largely driven by jealousy and the spread of falsehoods. He argued that local enterprises are often judged more harshly than foreign-owned businesses operating in the same sectors.
“What Mulli produces is the same as what is produced by white or Indian-owned companies in Malawi, yet when they do it, people applaud. As Malawians, we need to learn to support and love one another,” he said.
Addressing labour-related concerns, Khupe acknowledged that in the past the company experienced difficulties that resulted in delayed salary payments, with some employees going for months without pay. However, he stressed that the situation has since been resolved.
“That chapter is closed. Currently, all employees are receiving their salaries on a monthly basis,” he said.
Mulli Brothers Holdings is one of Malawi’s diversified conglomerates, with interests spanning multiple sectors of the economy. The company maintains that stability, professionalism, and collaboration—not politics—are key to its continued growth and contribution to national development.
