Concerned citizen calls government to arrest Chakwera for K28 trillion debt

By Vincent Gunde

A concerned citizen of Malawi Mrs. Elizabeth Kaliza Banda of Area 51 in Lilongwe, has called on the new government of the DPP to arrest and prosecute MCP President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to explain what he did with the trillions of Kwachas borrowed in five years that have taken the country’s debts from K4.1 trillion left by the DPP in June, 2020 to K28 trillion in 2025.

Kaliza Banda said the country is in deep economic situation foring those that are receiving low salaries to be subjected to paying punitive taxes while those that abused these trillions of Kwachas for personal gains are clapping hands to see poor people begging money from them.

She has also asked the Malawi Parliament to remove President Chakwera’s State of the Nation’s Address ( SONA) in the Book of Hansard because Chakwera lied to Malawians that he did this and that in his five years in government while on the ground there’s zero to show what he implemented.

Comrade Ntanyiwa of Limpopo FM online radio station has concurred with Kaliza Banda that President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera must explain to the nation on the 30 million Litres of fuel received from DRC to honor Malawian soldiers for their role they played in the peace- keeping mission.

Comrade Ntanyiwa said out of 30 million Litres, only 1.2 million Litres of fuel landed into the country’s fuel reserves meaning that 28.8 million Litres of fuel was stolen and did not reach Malawi.

He said President Chakwera must be fully held accountable for the allegation that 28.8 Litres of fuel was stolen under his watch and there are alleged reports that these fuels were sold to the neighboring country- Tanzania.

The activist has reminded Malawians that prior to the 16th September, 2025 elections, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera addressed Malawians that there are people at NOCMA who have abused the fuel for their personal gains and he was just waiting for the elections to be conducted to fire them, but he did not reveal there names.

He said now that the elections are over, President Chakwera has not come to Malawians to tell his course of action to those who were abusing fuel at the NOCMA appealing to Malawi Police Service ( MPS) to arrest him for a speedy revealing of the individuals suspected of abusing fuel at NOCMA.

Comrade Ntanyiwa has advised the DPP to take care with issues that are on their table for urgent action- Amaryllis Hotel sale, NOCMA and NEEF claiming that some senior DPP members are part of those that have benefited from free for all millions of Kwachas NEEF disbursement loans.

He has assured the DPP that if these issues are not addressed in as soon as yesterday, Malawians will say enough is enough with the DPP in government in the 2030 elections.
