Chikowa Primary Learners Get Uniform Lifeline From Dr Jane Ansah Foundation

By Aaron Dube

Dozens of vulnerable pupils at Chikowa Primary School in Chiradzulu District are back in class with dignity after receiving new uniforms donated by the Dr Jane Ansah Foundation.

Headteacher Jackson Maseya said the support reached 72 learners from Standard 1 through Standard 7. He added that another six children remain in need of similar assistance.

To keep the process transparent, class teachers across all grades were tasked with identifying beneficiaries. The cloth was handed over on Friday, 17th July 2026.Mwanamvekha league finals ignite Chiradzulu

Maseya noted that the donation goes beyond clothing. He expects it to curb absenteeism, cut down on dropouts, and give learners the confidence to attend school regularly and proudly.

Parents, guardians and teachers who attended the handover described the intervention as a timely relief. Many said it will ease financial pressure on households struggling to buy school requirements.X-Ray Machines Vanish at Chiradzulu Hospital

In closing remarks, both the school administration and parents expressed appreciation to the Foundation and prayed for its continued work. They also urged that the programme be rolled out to other needy schools in Malawi, saying the gesture has restored pride and hope to children who had been left behind.
